Private Consultations

For any one-on-one appointment my goal is to “meet you where you are.”

If you are new to Mind Body Medicine and are not even sure whether it is right for you, the initial visit might involve review of medical records and a physical exam that focuses on your issues. As a board-certified internist, I never want to make the mistake of recommending Mind Body Medicine when there might be a better alternative. You’ll leave the appointment with a new understanding of your symptoms and a plan to move forward.

If you’ve educated yourself and you have been trying to apply Mind Body tools to your symptoms but you are feeling stuck, in an appointment with me we can almost always figure out a path forward.  Common barriers to success include lack of confidence that your symptoms are neuroplastic, lack of confidence that you can do this, inability to get rid of fear, inability to be non-judgmental (about your symptoms or about other things in your life), suppressed or repressed emotions that are keeping your brain in a hypervigilant state. Usually in just 1-2 visits we can identify any of your particular “barriers” and give you some tools to overcome them.

Payment

Although Dr. Fanestil does not contract with any insurance companies but he is licensed to practice medicine in Colorado. For most visits by Colorado residents he can issue a superbill for you to submit to your insurer for reimbursement. If you have any out-of-network benefits, your insurer may cover a substantial portion of the cost of the visit. If you are not in Colorado, the visit will be a “Mind Body Coaching visit”. You might be able to use HSA funds, but outside of Colorado I cannot issue a superbill for a “medical” appointment.
